However, if you prefer to keep your jewelry looking pristine, avoid wearing it in situations where it might be exposed to impacts or abrasions. When not in use, store it in a box or fabric pouch to protect it.
Sterling silver naturally oxidizes over time when in contact with common elements, often causing a slight darkening in areas where the piece has frequent skin contact. This can enhance its character. If you prefer a constant shine, simply polish it regularly with a silver polishing cloth.
